Using skis, snowboarding in the season, as well as improper storage of skis/boards during the off-season leads to the need for repairs. Specifically, the proper preparation of ski equipment for use. After all, you can’t just grab your skis off the balcony and head to the Carpathians. For example, it’s important to understand how the equipment was stored. How long has it been since the last ski or snowboard repair? Did you pack them wet and leave them for half a year? Spoiler alert! On unprepared skis or snowboard, you won’t be able to ride down the mountain. In fact, the skis will refuse to go. In such a case, we recommend contacting a ski and snowboard repair service.
To make sure your downhill rides on skis or snowboards are safe, it’s essential to properly prepare your equipment. The edges allow you to control the snowboard and decide which way to turn. Therefore, the edges need to be sharpened, and the base should be smooth and waxed. When the board is waxed, the skis slide easily, but if there’s no wax, the skis will simply “stick to the snow” and refuse to move. You’ll either be standing on top or slowly sliding down the hill.
